III. Description and scope of data processing

1. Provision of the website

When you access our website, the web server automatically collects the following data in so-called log files:

  • IP-addresses
  • Date and time
  • Protocol information such as protocol type and version, desired action, status codes, or details about the transferred data (e.g. the size of a question or a response)
  • Error messages
  • Depending on the application, this may include application-specific information such as message IDs for emails, details about the browser used (user agent string) for web access, and even information about the page from which the visitor accessed the website

The hosting provider uses this information, among other things, to track down and resolve technical problems, find human-caused errors, protect against attacks on our infrastructure, support post-mortem analyses of hacked customer websites, and create visitor statistics for websites.

The data remains on the hoster’s systems until it is no longer needed for business purposes and the legally or contractually stipulated retention periods have expired, after which it is automatically deleted. For most data, this is a maximum of six months.

2. Cookies

We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly. Cookies are small files that are stored on your device.

You can configure your browser in order to allow cookies individually or block them entirely. Please note that if you disable cookies, you may not be able to use all the features of the website.

  • Technically necessary cookies: Processing based on overriding legitimate interest.
  • Analytics/marketing cookies: only with your consent.

The storage duration varies depending on the cookie. Details can be found in our cookie notice, where you can adjust your settings at any time.

3. Web analysis

We use Google Analytics on our website, a service provided by Google LLC, Mountain View, USA. This service uses cookies to collect information about website usage.

  • IP anonymization is enabled, so your IP address is only transmitted in abbreviated form.
  • You can prevent processing by selecting “only necessary cookies” in the cookie banner or by installing a browser add-on to deactivate it.

Data may be transferred to the USA. If required, we base this on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) or on suitable safeguards (standard contractual clauses with additional measures).

4. Form & Email Contact

If you use a contact form or write to us by email, we will process your information solely for the purpose of handling your request and any follow-up questions.
The data will be deleted after the process is completed, unless legal obligations prevent this.

5. Online job application

By submitting your application documents, you agree that we may process your data for the purpose of personnel selection.

  • Access is granted only to internal departments responsible for the process or affiliated companies.
  • No disclosure to third parties.
  • Storage until completion of the application process.
  • In case of cancellation, deletion will occur no later than 6 months after the request, unless consent for longer storage exists or there is a legal obligation.

6. Newsletter

We use the double opt-in procedure for sending our newsletter. We store the email address, date, IP address, and preferences in order to be able to prove the subscription.

  • You may unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter.
  • Legal basis: Your consent (for existing customers, additionally, an overriding interest in similar offers).
The emails are sent via Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a Mailchimp, USA, part of the Intuit group).
  • Mailchimp has a data processing agreement (DPA).
  • Data may be transferred to the USA. If required necessary, we base this on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) or appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses with additional measures).
  • Mailchimp may use pseudonymized data (e.g. delivery and open rates) for optimization purposes, but not for its own advertising or sharing.

IV. Data security

1. TLS encryption

We use TLS encryption during your visit to our website. You can recognize this by the padlock icon in the browser’s address bar.

Furthermore, we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse or unauthorized access.
